Shadow Brokerage

A fleet frozen in stasis. The Brokerage was never there.

Faction dossier

Shadow Brokerage

We Already Know

War decided before the first shot. The Brokerage trades in secrets and sabotage, freezing reactors mid-burn and slipping shield-piercing rounds through blinded defenses. Doctrine — Lockdown & EWAR: stasis-disabling, shield-bypass payloads and pervasive stealth on extremely fragile frames. A fleet that cannot move, see, or fire never lays a finger on them.

History

The Shadow Brokerage was the Throne's Quiet Office, the imperial intelligence service that knew everything about everyone. During the Sundering it sold the Throne's secrets to every side of the civil war, and when the war was over it owned a piece of all of them.

The Brokerage trades in secrets and sabotage. Its wars are decided before the first shot: reactors frozen mid-burn, defences blinded, shield-piercing rounds slipped through gaps nobody knew were there. Its ships are fragile, because a fleet that cannot move, see or fire never lays a finger on them. Nobody knows where the Brokerage rules from. The Brokerage, of course, knows where everyone else does.

On the Tide

The Brokerage claims to know what the Tide wants. It has not said what it would charge to tell.

“Assume they have read this assessment. Assume they wrote part of it.”

— Frontier Command assessment, Fleet Admiral Selene Voss

Hull lineage

Brokerage hulls are named like entries in a ledger: Hush and Cipher, Leverage and Blackmail, Kingpin carriers and Checkmate dreadnoughts.
