Server update 56.1 - winning pays more

The game server was updated at 21:40 UTC. There is nothing to download: Alpha build 56 keeps working. The server restarted once, after a five-minute notice, and nothing was wiped.

Two additions to what a victory pays:

Beating another commander now pays XP

A win over another commander pays a tenth of the hull XP of every enemy ship you destroyed, on top of the Infamy, the resources and the chance of salvage.

  • A hull's XP is what building that design for the first time pays: 50 for a Fighter, doubling with each class up to 28,800 for a Dreadnought. So the bigger the ships you beat, the more the win is worth.
  • Beating the same commander again on the same day shrinks it like the other rewards: all, half, a quarter, then nothing.
  • A fleet you left deployed that wins while you are away earns it for you all the same.

Destroying a Tide fleet now pays resources

Beat a Tide fleet and you are paid minerals, helium-3 and antimatter equal to what its destroyed ships would cost to repair. A higher tier pays more:

  • Tier 1: about 110 minerals
  • Tier 9: about 5,800 minerals and 1,700 helium-3
  • Tier 11: about 18,700 minerals, 6,000 helium-3 and 1,700 antimatter

It goes into your storage, and what does not fit is lost, so check your Warehouses before a big fight. The Tide still gives no XP, no Infamy and no salvage.

Good to know

  • Only a victory pays. A battle the clock ends is a draw, and a draw pays nothing.
  • Both rewards show in the REWARDS strip of the battle result.
  • The tenth of hull XP is a starting value. Tell us whether the XP and the Tide's payouts feel too small, too large or about right.
  • A restart of the server brings every deployed fleet home to its bay. Deploy again and carry on.

The rules are in the Player's Guide: Combat and Levels and Progression. The changelog has the full list.
