Alpha build 105 is live, with a server update. The Tide has new fleets at the top of its ladder and longer guns across it, and three fixes are in.
Elite Tide fleets
- Three new tiers roam the sector: Tier 16, 17 and 18, two fleets of each: Ash Throne and Red Throne (T16), Void Heart and Pale Heart (T17), Last Bloom and Dead Bloom (T18).
- Each is a Tier 15 fleet made two, three and four times as tough: its health, shields and guns.
- Beating one pays two, three and four times what a Tier 15 fleet pays, in resources and in XP.
The Tide's guns
- Every Tide fleet now carries the long-range guns of its tier, the same ones commanders fit. Its armour and shields are its own.
- Tiers 13 to 15 now fly their hulls and modules at Mark 5.
- Tide fleets waiting at deep-space signals are fitted the same way as the patrols of their tier.
Fixed
- Opening your base from a signal's deep-space view now shows the base with its own camera, without the signal's banner and buttons over it, and the base camera comes back at the right zoom after a trip to the sector (#191).
- The DEFEND BASE chip on a fleet card can be clicked again.
- Gas clouds, asteroid belts and planet clouds show as soon as you switch between the sector and a planet, instead of a second later.
Good to know
- Not a required update: build 104 still connects. Steam brings in build 105 on its own; if it does not appear, exit Steam completely and start it again.
- The changelog lists every change, and the player guide's Tiers of the Tide has all eighteen tiers.
