Alpha build 98 is live. It fixes the first things you found in bridge officers: assigning officers to seats, and the crew lines on the battle result.
Not a required update: build 97 still connects. Steam brings in build 98 on its own; if it does not appear, restart Steam.
Assigning officers
- Officers swap seats. Pick an officer who already has a seat, and the two trade seats, in the same fleet or between two fleets at your base. Before, the officer in the chosen seat lost their seat and the other seat was left empty.
- A fleet that is out says so at once. Crews change only while the fleet is docked at your base. The seats of a fleet that is out opened the officer list and the choice was then refused; now the seat tells you straight away to recall the fleet first.
- The officer list always starts on ALL. A class tab, rarity or faction picked earlier no longer hides officers when you choose one for a seat.
- Officers training in the Academy are in the list, dimmed and after the ones who can take the seat. Clicking one says why it cannot. Stop the training on the Academy screen to seat them.
- The crew screens say why on their own line when a change cannot be made.
The battle result's crew
- An officer at the level cap shows LEVEL CAP where the XP goes. A long sentence used to run over the next officer's line and out of the panel. Promote the officer to keep them learning.
- After a win, the crew section says what the battle dropped: the dossiers and whose, or NO DOSSIERS FROM THIS WIN. Only wins drop dossiers, at a 10% chance, more with an Archivist Below Deck.
- Big XP is written short on the crew lines (+6.4K XP), so every line fits.
Thanks to the tester who sent a video of the crew screen and a screenshot of the result. Both reports are in the tracker as #182 and #183.
