Alpha build 89 - Patrols while you sleep, incursion fixes and your reports

Alpha build 89 is live. It is not a required update: build 88 can still join, and Steam brings 89 in on its own. If the update does not show up, restart Steam.

Contract patrols count while you are offline

Keep a fleet in the named planet's view and the patrol's time counts, online or not. Park it, log off, and come back to a patrol that kept going.

Incursions add up again

The damage plate now counts up and the flagship's health goes down after each battle, so every fight against an incursion shows on its bar.

Raiding with more than one fleet

A second fleet sent at your own raid joins it while the raid is still gathering, up to 3 fleets. Once the raid has begun you are told so plainly, instead of being told another commander is attacking that base. Send your fleets together, or before the first one arrives.

Smaller things

  • Less smoke rises from a base under attack, so ships flying through it are easier to see.
  • In battle, a ship's weapon line shows its REACH.
  • Signal work that is paid when you sign in now ticks its step of the Commander's Licence.
  • From this build on, when a newer build is out and your game is too old to join, the reconnect screen says UPDATE REQUIRED instead of trying again for ever.

Eight fixes from #tester-chat

Thank you for reporting these as you played. Speeding up a build twice quickly no longer shows an internal message, your own base's card stays yours after you reopen it, a large raid cargo figure and a defence rating past a million fit their panels, signing in while the server is busy no longer greets you as a new commander, and the red texture-streaming line is gone from the screen. The changelog lists all of them.
