Alpha build 83 - Two fixes

Alpha build 83 is live. It is not a required update: Steam brings it in by itself, and build 82 can still join.

Fixed

  • An empty Research Laboratory. When the game could not reach the server at its first try (the box "Couldn't reach the Massive Frontier game server ... Try again now?") and got in after a try again, the Laboratory opened empty for the rest of that session: no tabs, no research tiles, 0 / 0 COMPLETED. It now fills in however many tries the game took to get in.
  • The drill fight for veteran trainees. Commanders who had finished the first chapter of the Commander's Licence before build 82 were sent to the drill fight, now chapter I's first mission, with nothing launched to fight it. At your next sign-in, your first fleet with ships is launched beside your outpost, next to the drill target.

Thanks to the tester who sent in a log file: it showed exactly what was going on. The changelog has the details.

Server update 104.2 - Bigger fleets

Fleet command points now rise to 450 at level 50 (they stopped at 300), so five Dreadnoughts or six Carriers fit in one fleet. Every level from 11 up gets more. Nothing to download.
