Alpha build 42 is live. This is a client and server update and the two only work with each other, so exit Steam completely and start it again before you play. If the game tells you it is out of date, that is all it means - your copy has not updated yet.
Every Freelancer and Iron Vanguard ship has its own model
All 70 Freelancer hulls and all 70 Iron Vanguard hulls now have their own 3D models, in the shipyard and in space, with icons made from those models. That takes us to 630 of the 910 hulls in the game.
The download is larger than usual because of them.
F1 to F8 select your fleets
F1 selects the first fleet in your fleet panel, F2 the second, and so on up to F8. It does exactly what clicking the fleet does, and it works on every keyboard layout.
An out-of-date game now tells you so
The game now checks that your copy matches the server before you join. If it does not, you get a message telling you to let Steam update, instead of connecting and being dropped a few seconds later with no explanation.
The Warp Gate can be unlocked
The Warp Gate asked for Command Bridge level 7, and the bridge only goes up to level 5, so nobody could ever build one. It now needs bridge level 5. Thanks to ratbastid for asking the question that found it.
